Cardiff

Cardiff or “Caerdydd” - to give the city it’s Welsh name – is widely recognised as one of the most vibrant cities in the UK. Quite simply it has something for everyone.

As a port with a strong seafaring history, Cardiff, in its heyday, was a busy, bustling city that exported Welsh coal and steel all over the world. Whilst those days are gone the grandeur of Cardiff’s buildings are still with us many of which are occupied by the University of Wales.

Cardiff Castle with its magnificent keep and grounds is a familiar sight to anyone who has ever visited the city and it is here in the summer months that families gather to enjoy green open spaces or outdoor concerts right in the heart of the capital city.

The waterfront in Cardiff Bay where our Cardiff Lettings2Sales office is based is a sophisticated mix of stunning waterfront apartments, restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, luxury hotels and concert halls, the most recognisable of which has to be the Millenium Centre which features regularly in the Dr Who and Casualty series.

Cardiff however is also widely appreciated for it’s excellent shopping. John Lewis has opened a huge flagship store in the St David’s 2 shopping centre and many other High St stores and restaurants have followed in their footsteps drawing shoppers from far and wide.

Cardiff as capital of the “Land of Song” is also home of Welsh National Opera whose performances are appreciated worldwide. So to are the massed voices of Welsh Rugby supporters when Wales is playing the national game at the impressive Millenium Stadium. This enormous stadium is also the venue for major pop concerts.
